Born in 2005 in Nagpur, India, Divya Deshmukh began playing chess at age 6 and quickly established herself as one of India's most promising talents. She won her first World Youth Championship at age 9 in 2014 (U10 Girls) and added another world title in 2017 (U12 Girls). Divya became a Woman Grandmaster (WGM) in 2021 and International Master (IM) in 2023 before achieving the full Grandmaster title in 2025 by winning the Women's World Cup.
